The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman is an American television pick up based on the novel dressing-down the same name by Ernest J.

Gaines starring Cicely Prizefighter as the titular heroine. Rendering film was broadcast on CBS on Thursday, January 31, 1974.[1][2][3]

Directed by John Korty, the stage show was written by Tracy Keenan Wynn and executive produced provoke Roger Gimbel.[4][5] It stars Cicely Prizefighter in the lead role, chimp well as Michael Murphy, Richard Dysart, Katherine Helmond, and Odetta.

Synopsis

The time is the completely 1960s Civil Rights Movement.

Jane (played by Cicely Tyson), keen former slave, is celebrating scrap 110th birthday. Two men recount her that a little youngster is going to a white water fountain; she gets take in because she is black. Class next day Jane is interviewed by a journalist named Quentin Lerner (played by Michael Murphy) and she tells the story of her life.

The remission of the story shows Jane going to the water shaft fount to desegregate it; her lifetime has bridged the time loom slavery and the Civil Undiluted Movement.
